UNITY Festival

The 2011 UNITY Festival is a multi-day festival taking place at a few public venues across the City of Toronto. The festival will commemorate the past year’s accomplishments from student performers that participated in after school programs and assemblies. The festival will be an opportunity for youth to showcase their artistic talent and VOICE, as well as their stories, through urban-art form. UNITY Festival will allow student performers to share the stage with professional acts at each event. UNITY will be partnering with SPEAKOut, Art Starts and Euphonic Sound to deliver this united festival experience.

The Kickoff Concert will be a collaboration of art forms that represent the different artistic elements taught during UNITY’s year long in-school, after school and community programs. The event will include main stage performances from youth, UNITY artists and headliner acts. There will be free Urban arts classes taught by professional UNITY artists and open graffiti arts space for public engagement as well as community partner tables.
