Weird Beauty: Fashion Photography Now

This New York City, International Center of Photography, exhibition presents some of the most innovative fashion photography of the last few years. Perhaps one of the newest trends, weird fashion photography, or beauty shots that push limits, can now be seen more and more in advertisement and media. The exhibition showcases photographers collectives which include a wide range of influences such as art, sexuality, narrative, digital media and youth culture; furthermore, all are meant to encompass real beauty or the truth behind our influences...consequently bringing this to the forefront.

This exhibit is captivating as it also allows one to consider the impact of graphic design on the way that fashion photography is presented. Along with original photographic prints, the exhibition will feature hundreds of tear sheets and magazine covers, from both mainstream and independent publications, by a range of photographers including Steven Meisel, Cindy Sherman, Mario Sorrenti, Nick Knight, Steven Klein, Miles Aldridge, Marcus Gaab, Paolo Roversi, and Sølve Sundsbø.

These images are really meant to make you think and, for that reason, I have refrained from further commentary.
